This goes with the video ‘you look suspicious to me’-
Enjoy.
NOTE- I did see the tragedy at the historic church in Charleston-
Please pray for the families of the victims. Thanks.
These past few weeks, instead of doing lengthy studies [which I
still plan on doing] I have been videoing/blogging like most people ‘do’ social
media.
Even though these posts are not ‘deep’- yet- even the off the cuff
posts have value.
Recently some famous bloggers have left social media- others have
deleted Facebook accounts- and so on.
Why?
Most on-line stuff- articles- short books- etc.- are in a format
where the majority of people are ‘hooked’ on very short- exciting- stuff.
And the average attention span doesn’t normally allow for real
learning.
Now- I don’t plan on leaving blogging- but I do see how social
media does take away from ‘old time’ learning.
I’m presently reading thru some new books- all the way [a
discipline we should all practice].
I regularly read thru the bible- all the way- something every
Christian should do.
I talk a lot- about regular prayer- I even made a short video of
my prayer time the other day.
These are basic principles- habits- that train our minds- our
bodies- to do right things.
The other day I posted the bible chapter about work- how if a ‘man
does not work- he should not eat’.
Work is a God ordained discipline- that occupies the mind/body-
and does not leave idle time for people to get hooked into all types of
bondage.
Man was created to do physical things- thru out the day- and if
you violate this rule- your mind/body will indeed find something else to do
during that time.
And many are absolutely hooked on seemingly unbreakable bondages-
during these hours [drugs- sex- etc.] because they violate the God ordained
rule on work.
Earlier today I read a chapter in Proverbs- Solomon gave advice on
this very thing [I’ll try and post it below].
So- I hope this new style of daily posting helps- and I will do
the longer ones down the road.
But take to heart what these ‘ex’ bloggers- social media folk are saying-
They
know what they are talking about.Proverbs 6:4 Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.
Proverbs 6:5 Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter,
and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.
Proverbs 6:6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and
be wise:
Proverbs 6:7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
Proverbs 6:8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her
food in the harvest.
Proverbs 6:9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou
arise out of thy sleep?
Proverbs 6:10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little
folding of the hands to sleep:
Proverbs 6:11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth,
and thy want as an armed man.
Luke 15:11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
Luke 15:12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father,
give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his
living.
Luke 15:13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all
together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his
substance with riotous living.
Luke 15:14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine
in that land; and he began to be in want.
Luke 15:15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that
country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
Luke 15:16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks
that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
Luke 15:17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired
servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with
hunger!
Luke 15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto
him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
Luke 15:19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as
one of thy hired servants.
Luke 15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was
yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell
on his neck, and kissed him.
Luke 15:21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned
against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
Luke 15:22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the
best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his
feet:
Luke 15:23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let
us eat, and be merry:
Luke 15:24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was
lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
Luke 15:25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and
drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
Luke 15:26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these
things meant.
Luke 15:27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy
father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and
sound.
Luke 15:28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came
his father out, and intreated him.
Luke 15:29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many
years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and
yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
Luke 15:30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath
devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
Luke 15:31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and
all that I have is thine.
Luke 15:32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for
this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
