As a news reader- I hit all the local/national news sites every morning.
Today I usually wind down a bit from writing/posting- and go to the ranch- then hit the beach with family and stuff like that.
But I wanted to mention the local media coverage of the sad story of our local family who had the most devastating loss of life in Texas recent floods.
The MCcomb and Carey family lost loved ones- And we should pray for them.
Some local media sites had ‘most popular story of the week’ and under the headline they had the tragedy.
Now some sites say ‘Tragedy on the Blanco’- in big headlines.
News outlets need to be careful that they are not ‘promoting’ a real tragedy- in a way you would promote a ‘top story’ headline.
Yes- I’m grateful that the local community has joined together to pray/support the families-

But let’s stop the voyeuristic coverage.
