Every Sunday I try and teach the verses from the Sunday mass- and the outline from Church Unlimited.
This morning [1 hour ago] I made a video- Samuel 12-13- and spoke from Hebrews 13 ‘If today you hear his voice- harden not your heart’.
Then I put on the Mass [radio] and they were singing ‘if today you hear his voice- harden not your heart’.
I find it interesting how God confirms his word [You won’t hear me speak on it till the next video titled IF YOU HEAR GOD- DON’T GET MAD].
Hebrews 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will
hear his voice,
Hebrews 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the
day of temptation in the wilderness:]
[NOTE]- I accidently built a church.
‘What’?
Yes- you’ll have to watch.
The other day I noticed my neighbor cut down some tall weeds.
And I actually liked the weeds- because when I’m praying in my yard- you know- if people see you- they think you are talking to yourself [which I also do at times- but that’s another story].
So- the next morning I actually managed to do the hour prayer- then write the post- then upload- you know- the whole routine.
I figured I’d be behind- because I went to Lowe’s and figured I just build another ‘fence’.
Yes- I’m an over reactor.
Well- I did buy some posts- cement and wood- and believe it or not- I put it up- and still finished my whole morning routine- by 10:30 am.
How?
I have no idea- but it was up and done [I basically built a sort of ‘top fence’- to give more privacy].
Then I started messing around with it- and built a church.
Well- you tell me what it looks like- I think it looks like a church [I used all scraps from the yard].
NEW STUFF-
SAMUEL 12-13 [Hebrews 3- Psalm 75- verses below]
Samuel recounts what God did for his people ‘remember- when you fathers cried out to God when they were in Egypt- God sent them Moses and Arron- he promoted them- not for their own glory- but for his purposes’.
God allowed the people to have a king [Saul] even though it was not his will.
Samuel seems to be telling them ‘Ok- God gave you a king- but continue to seek me- both you and your new king- hear MY VOICE and all will go well’.
Yet- in chapter 13- all does not go well.
Saul is in a fierce battle with the Philistines.
The people are trembling- some even cross back over the Jordan for heaven’s sake.
I mean this is the generation of kids who did not even claim that old place as their own.
Yet- they were like their fathers- wanting to go back- I guess all the way to Egypt if they had to.
So- Saul is in a tough battle- he’s tired of waiting for the prophet Samuel to come and make the offering [note- Samuel is not only ‘prophetic’ but also serves as a type of priest. He even says in these chapters that he will not sin- in ceasing to pray for the people- as well as teaching them. The ministry of leaders in the church is not simply to preach to ‘the people’ it’s to pray for them- give your life away- as a servant].
So- Saul makes the offering- and then Samuel shows up.
‘What did you do man! - I told you to wait’.
Samuel gives a prophecy ‘God has rejected you- and seeks a new king- a man after God’s own heart’.
Paul the apostle quotes this in Acts chapter 13
Acts 13:21 And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.
Acts 13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them
David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have
found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil
all my will.
Acts 13:23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise
raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
The ‘man’ will be Israel’s next king- David.
How can all this be real?
Remember- God never wanted them to have a king.
Yet David will play a key role in bringing in the Messiah.
Jesus himself- in the last words he spoke in the bible says –
Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
So- Jesus identifies as the Son of David.
He is the fulfillment of the promise God made to him ‘a son will sit on David’s throne forever’.
Yet- God never wanted any of these guys to have ‘thrones’.
Paul the apostle tells us that even the sin of man- when God turns it around- can still play a role in the Divine purpose.
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: Romans
So- God will indeed use all of these men- these kings- to fulfill his will.
In chapter 12 Samuel reminds me of the apostle Paul.
He is getting old- and says to the people ‘all the time I was doing ministry among you- did I cheat you out of money? Did I use you for my own gain?
Was I a charlatan’?
Samuel is showing us the servant’s heart.
He wants the people to see that his ‘ministry’ was not about him.
Contrary to what we see in Saul.
Samuel rebukes the people one more time about the whole king situation ‘remember- you rejected God when you wanted a king’.
He also recounts Gods goodness. In Psalms 75 we read that God will exalt the righteous- he will allow good kings to rule over them in the future.
And we will continue to see bad ones as well.
Proverbs tells us it is an abomination for kings to do wickedness-because the throne is established by righteousness.
In Hebrews 3 the people are told ‘Today- if you hear God’s voice- listen’.
Samuel reminds the people to obey ‘GODS VOICE’.
It’s easy to have a form of religion- worship- and to deny
the power of God.
This know also, that in
the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men
shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,
disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without
natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce,
despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors,
heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a
form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2nd
Tim.Saul will survive this battle- yet we will see a man on the downward slope- he will continue to have authority- because God anointed him.
Yet we will also see the scarlet thread of God’s purpose as David comes on the scene.
The man who will be after ‘God’s own heart’.
VERSES-
1Samuel 12:1 And Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have
hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a king
over you.
1Samuel 12:2 And now, behold, the king walketh before you: and I
am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked
before you from my childhood unto this day.
1Samuel 12:3 Behold, here I am: witness against me before the
LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I
taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I
received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.
1Samuel 12:4 And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor
oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man's hand.
1Samuel 12:5 And he said unto them, The LORD is witness against
you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found ought in my
hand. And they answered, He is witness.
1Samuel 12:6 And Samuel said unto the people, It is the LORD that
advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of
Egypt.
1Samuel 12:7 Now therefore stand still, that I may reason with you
before the LORD of all the righteous acts of the LORD, which he did to you and
to your fathers.
1Samuel 12:8 When Jacob was come into Egypt, and your fathers
cried unto the LORD, then the LORD sent Moses and Aaron, which brought forth
your fathers out of Egypt, and made them dwell in this place.
1Samuel 12:9 And when they forgat the LORD their God, he sold them
into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor, and into the hand of the
Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against
them.
1Samuel 12:10 And they cried unto the LORD, and said, We have
sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and
Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve
thee.
1Samuel 12:11 And the LORD sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and
Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on
every side, and ye dwelled safe.
1Samuel 12:12 And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children
of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over
us: when the LORD your God was your king.
1Samuel 12:13 Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen,
and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you.
1Samuel 12:14 If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey
his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both
ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your
God:
1Samuel 12:15 But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but
rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be
against you, as it was against your fathers.
1Samuel 12:16 Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which
the LORD will do before your eyes.
1Samuel 12:17 Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the
LORD, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that
your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in
asking you a king.
1Samuel 12:18 So Samuel called unto the LORD; and the LORD sent
thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the LORD and
Samuel.
1Samuel 12:19 And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy
servants unto the LORD thy God, that we die not: for we have added unto all our
sins this evil, to ask us a king.
1Samuel 12:20 And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have
done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve
the LORD with all your heart;
1Samuel 12:21 And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after
vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.
1Samuel 12:22 For the LORD will not forsake his people for his
great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.
1Samuel 12:23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin
against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and
the right way:
1Samuel 12:24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all
your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.
1Samuel 12:25 But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be
consumed, both ye and your king.
1Samuel 13:1 Saul reigned one year; and when he had reigned two
years over Israel,
1Samuel 13:2 Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel; whereof
two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Bethel, and a thousand
were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent
every man to his tent.
1Samuel 13:3 And Jonathan smote the garrison of the Philistines
that was in Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet
throughout all the land, saying, Let the Hebrews hear.
1Samuel 13:4 And all Israel heard say that Saul had smitten a
garrison of the Philistines, and that Israel also was had in abomination with
the Philistines. And the people were called together after Saul to Gilgal.
1Samuel 13:5 And the Philistines gathered themselves together to
fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and
people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and they came up,
and pitched in Michmash, eastward from Bethaven.
1Samuel 13:6 When the men of Israel saw that they were in a
strait, (for the people were distressed,) then the people did hide themselves
in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.
1Samuel 13:7 And some of the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land
of Gad and Gilead. As for Saul, he was yet in Gilgal, and all the people
followed him trembling.
1Samuel 13:8 And he tarried seven days, according to the set time
that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were
scattered from him.
1Samuel 13:9 And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me,
and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.
1Samuel 13:10 And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an
end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to
meet him, that he might salute him.
1Samuel 13:11 And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said,
Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not
within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves
together at Michmash;
1Samuel 13:12 Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now
upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the LORD: I forced
myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.
1Samuel 13:13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly:
thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded
thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.
1Samuel 13:14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD
hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to
be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD
commanded thee.
1Samuel 13:15 And Samuel arose, and gat him up from Gilgal unto
Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people that were present with him,
about six hundred men.
1Samuel 13:16 And Saul, and Jonathan his son, and the people that
were present with them, abode in Gibeah of Benjamin: but the Philistines
encamped in Michmash.
1Samuel 13:17 And the spoilers came out of the camp of the
Philistines in three companies: one company turned unto the way that leadeth to
Ophrah, unto the land of Shual:
1Samuel 13:18 And another company turned the way to Bethhoron: and
another company turned to the way of the border that looketh to the valley of
Zeboim toward the wilderness.
1Samuel 13:19 Now there was no smith found throughout all the land
of Israel: for the Philistines said, Lest the Hebrews make them swords or
spears:
1Samuel 13:20 But all the Israelites went down to the Philistines,
to sharpen every man his share, and his coulter, and his axe, and his mattock.
1Samuel 13:21 Yet they had a file for the mattocks, and for the
coulters, and for the forks, and for the axes, and to sharpen the goads.
1Samuel 13:22 So it came to pass in the day of battle, that there
was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that were
with Saul and Jonathan: but with Saul and with Jonathan his son was there
found.
1Samuel 13:23 And the garrison of the Philistines went out to the
passage of Michmash.

Hebrews 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly

Hebrews 3:2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also
Moses was faithful in all his house.
Hebrews 3:3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than
Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the

Hebrews 3:4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that
built all things is God.

Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house
are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto
the end.

Hebrews 3:16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit
not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
Hebrews 3:17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not
with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
Hebrews 3:18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into
his rest, but to them that believed not?
Hebrews 3:19 So we see that they could not enter in because of
unbelief.
NEWS
Remember- this is an area- where it’s possible that a real
war will break out.
Russia and Syria on one side- and the U.S. and NATO on the
other.
I believe the U.S. will back out of Syria when Russia and
Assad give us an ultimatum.
It will be done by private channels- not reported in the
U.S. media [probably].
And the U.S. will say something like ‘Russia and Assad are
going the wrong way- they made their bed and will have to sleep in it’.
And we will pull out.
The U.S. media will spin it- to make it look like ‘we won’
and did not back down.
