NEW STUFF [past posts- links- verses below]
Jesus heals a blind man- who was blind since he was born.
Great!
Well- maybe not.
Why?
Because of controversy- because of people being ‘blind’ themselves.
So- the blind guy was healed on the Sabbath day, and the religious leaders had a problem with that.
They ask him how he was healed, he tells them a short- true account.
‘Some man named Jesus spit in the dirt- put the mud on my eyes- told me to wash in a pool named ‘sent’ and that’s that- I can see.’
Hmm?
Let’s go grill the man’s parents.
‘Ok- you ‘say’ your son was born blind- and now he’s going around seeing- what do you have to say about that!’
Geez- you would have thought the guy set off a bomb!
Hs parents tell the religious leaders ‘yup- he was born blind- he is our son- and how he now sees- well- ask him- he’s not a child- he will speak for himself’.
I mean the poor mom and dad wanted no part of it- they could see how the leaders were attacking everyone they could- questioning their motives- whether they lied about their son’s injury [you know- faking welfare benefits and all].
So they go back to the healed man- and once again ‘ok- tell us again- every detail- we want to put this thing thru a legal test’.
The man says ‘I told you already- I mean this is the first day I have been able to see- ever- and you guys are making me wish I was still blind!’
Ok- I’m ad libbing a bit.
What’s really going on here is not an honest look at what actually happened.
Which we would call ‘true reporting’.
No- these guys have a personal bias- they have already come out against Jesus- and they have to do all in their power to attack anyone on his team [like a healed man].
So- the healed guy says ‘Look- I’ve told you already- this is not that complicated- if I keep telling you- maybe you will wind up being his followers too’!
I mean I don’t blame the guy for getting a little snippy.
Then the religious leaders snap back-
‘Who are you to teach us anything- you and your kind have been in sin your whole lives- you worthless piece of cr..’.
Well- you get the idea.
Now- Jesus and his men must be watching this whole scene- and realizing that the guy is going thru the same grilling they were now getting used to.
So- Jesus goes to the man- asks him if he believes on Jesus- the son of God.
The man doesn’t know who that is [he just knew some man- named Jesus- healed him].
Jesus tells him he is the Messiah- and the man believes.
At the end of the chapter Jesus says he came into the world to help those who realized they needed help ‘the blind’.
But those who think they are always right- no matter how much of the bible they know- they are like people who think ‘we know it all- we see’.
Jesus said those types of people are unable to receive ‘sight’ because they really don’t want it- they prefer to stay in their own ‘light’.
THE KINGDOM AS AN EXTENSION- OF YOU- https://ccoutreach87.wordpress.com/further-talks-on-church-and-ministry/  a book I wrote years ago- it fits with today’s teaching.
In short- in the Old Testament the people of God associated God- and his presence- as being at the tabernacle- temple.
That’s ok- God gave them all of it- as a sign of what was to come.
The sacrifices- the ark of the convent- all of it was going to be fulfilled thru Jesus and his new people- the church.
Now- at the time of Christ’s appearing- he is manifesting the Father to them- the Spirit of God came on Jesus at his baptism [a special anointing showing him to be the One].
Then he shows his people- his group of 12- how this kingdom operates.
He simply walks around- healing the sick- opening blind eyes- and telling people everywhere the kingdom of God has been among them.
In the debate with the woman at the well [John4] she is concerned about where the true place of worship is- Jesus tells her that the true worshippers will worship in Spirit and truth- as opposed to any human property- place- or even time.
Why is this important?
In essence this is the church- we- the people of God have God’s Spirit in us- and when we live in time- we are walking around with God in us.
When Paul was in prison he said even though he was in chains- yet the word of God was not bound.
Today- Pastor- preacher- saint-
We are not called to build some type of ministry- to gather people to a meeting- to build some edifice where people come to experience God [temple mindset].
No- everything we have- pen- pulpit [web sites- church buildings- take it as far as you want].
These are simply tools- tools to communicate the gospel.
The bible says ‘all that was written about Jesus’- in the law and prophets- had to be fulfilled in Him. Not just words he spoke- but his passion- his rejection- bearing the reproach of the whole world.
These are the valuable things of the kingdom- In essence- they are part of the Cross.
Which we too are called to bear.
Society is drawn to that which is real, you never get the sense from Jesus that he is trying to draw a crowd- yet they come.
He is not building an image- a persona.
He could care less about what people thought about his mission.
He was convinced he was actually fulfilling the law and prophets-
He too saw the writing on the wall- that he was destined to die.
To be put in the ground.
And then to rise again.
He did just that.

. Now, this would eventually lead up to the development of the strong nation states, an independent identifying with your state/region as opposed to being under Rome and the papacy. This type of independence would allow for the 16th century reformation to happen under Luther. If it were not for Frederick the Wise, the regional authority in Germany where Luther lived, he would have never had the protection or freedom to launch his reformation. Luther also had the influence of being a scholar at Wittenberg. Around the 12th-13th centuries you had the first university pop up at the great cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. The word university simply meant a co-operative effort from two or more people. It applied to many things besides learning. It was also during this time that the church began to develop a system of harmonizing Christian doctrine; she began to do systematic theology. The writings of the Greek philosophers [Aristotle] were rediscovered after centuries of them being hidden, and the great intellectual Saint Thomas Aquinas would wed Aristotle’s ideas with Christian truth. This became known as Scholasticism. Aquinas believed that men could arrive at a true  knowledge of God from pure reason and logic. But man could not know all the truths about God and his nature without ‘special revelation’ [the bible and church tradition]. All Christians did not agree with Aquinas new approach to Christian truth, the very influential bishop Bernard would initially condemn Aquinas over this. Bernard said ‘the faith that believes unto righteousness, believes! It does not doubt’. The Scholastic school taught that the way you arrive at knowledge was thru the continuous questioning and doubting of things until you come to some basic conclusions. These issues would be debated for centuries, and even in the present hour many argue over the issue of Divine revelation versus natural logical reasoning. Tertullian, an early North Afrcian church father, said ‘I believe because it is preposterous, illogical’ he became famous for his saying ‘what does Jerusalem have to do with Athens’ meaning he did not believe that Greek philosophy should have any part with Christian truth. Origen, his contemporary, believed the other way. So the debate rages on. Why talk about this here? Some believers ‘believe’ in a type of knowledge called ‘revelation knowledge’ they mean something different than the historic use of the term. Historically ‘revelation’ meant that which God revealed to us THRU THE BIBLE, not something outside of the bible. For instance, the first canon of scripture put together was by a man called Marcion. His ‘bible’ contained the letters of Paul and parts of :Luke. He believed the revelation God gave Paul was for us today, not the Old Testament or the historical gospels. He was condemned by the church as a heretic. The point being some took Paul’s writings about receiving knowledge from God as an indicator that what God showed Paul was different than what the church got thru the other apostles. In point of fact the things that God revealed to Paul, or to you or me; all truth is consistent, it will not contradict any other part of Gods truth. Paul’s letters are consistent with the gospels, not in contradiction. When believers cling to an idea that their teachers are sharing ‘special revelation’ or a Rhema word that is somehow above the scrutiny of scripture, then they are in dangerous territory. Paul did appeal to his experience with God as a defense of his gospel, but he backed up everything he said with Old Testament scripture. God wasn’t ‘revealing’ things to Paul that were outside of the realm of true knowable ‘truth’. You could examine and test the things Paul was saying, he wasn’t saying ‘because God showed it to me, that’s why I’m correct’. So in today’s church world, we want all the things we learn and believe to be consistent with what the church has believed thru out the centuries. Sure there are always things that are going to be questioned and true reform entails this, but beware of teachers who come to you with ‘revelation knowledge’ or a ‘Rhema word’ that goes against the already revealed word of truth.

PAST POSTS [verses below]
‘Wherefore we receiving a Kingdom that can not be moved, let us HAVE GRACE, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: for our God is a consuming fire’ Though Paul doesn’t say it [I think he should have!] but this alludes to the ‘God’ of Moses day, who did not consume the burning bush, compared to the ‘God’ of today [new covenant] who will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire! This fits in with the theme of a harsher punishment for those who reject the covenant of grace as opposed to those who rejected the covenant of law. I know these themes are not popular, but this is clearly the way Paul is presenting them. I also am not saying the ‘God’ of the Old Testament is different from the ‘God’ of the new [this is the heresy of Marcion! I think that was his name. He was an early Christian heretic who comprised the first canon of scripture for a ‘new testament’ it included basically Paul’s letters, and he taught that The God of the new testament was different from the God in the old] but Paul is presenting the new covenant in a way that says ‘don’t neglect this new way of salvation, those who do will receive a harsher judgment than those who rejected the law’.
END NOTES-
A HEAVENLY CITY.
DON’T BE SAD, HE’S TREATING YOU LIKE A SON.
NO REPENTANCE- OUTSIDE OF CHRIST THAT IS.
CULTURE SHOCK IS HARD ON US ALL.
Once again we see the contrast between ‘he that spoke from earth’ [Moses- the law]- and he that ‘speaks from heaven’ [Jesus covenant is more strict- to those outside of it and reject it- because he has heavenly authority- Moses had earthly]. Hebrews 12:25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

The writer says ‘don’t be sad- God disciplines every son who he receives’- though this certainly applies to Christians- Hebrews 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Hebrews 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Hebrews 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Remember this- though the message of grace and Jesus as the Messiah is wonderful- especially to us Gentile believers-
Yet- it was indeed a cultural shock to the 1st century Jew-
Why?
Even though Jesus was the fulfillment of the prophets- yet in order for the Jewish person to accept this [Like the apostle Paul]
He had to accept a real cultural change in the religion he practiced from his youth-
He was being asked to stop the animal sacrifices- to ‘move on’ from the Law covenant- and to embrace Christ.
Now- in reality- it would be the fulfillment of all that was contained in the law- but it’s often hard for anyone to ‘move on’ from former religious practices that are embedded in his culture.
So- in context ‘Don’t be sad- God is disciplining you- showing you new stuff- and it’s tough for sure- but he does this with all the sons he receives’.
We also see the promise of the heavenly city- As opposed to the earthly one. Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
Hebrews 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

The writer is speaking about the church- and how both Jew and Gentile are part of this spiritual

2ND CORINTHIANS-

(1223) INTRO, CHAPTER 1- Out of all of Paul’s letters, this one is the most autobiographical. This is Paul’s 3rd letter [some think 4th] to the Church at Corinth. There is a missing letter that we don’t have. Some scholars feel parts of the missing letter are in this letter [chapters 6, 10-13] either way, we know the letter is inspired and part of the canon of scripture. In chapter one Paul recounts the difficulties he went

VERSES-
John 9:1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
John 9:2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
John 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
John 9:6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
John 9:7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
John 9:8 The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
John 9:9 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
John 9:10 Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
John 9:11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
John 9:12 Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
John 9:13 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.
John 9:14 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
John 9:15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
John 9:16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
John 9:17 They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
John 9:18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
John 9:19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?
John 9:20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
John 9:21 But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.
John 9:22 These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
John 9:23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
John 9:24 Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
John 9:25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
John 9:26 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?
John 9:27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?
John 9:28 Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.
John 9:29 We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.
John 9:30 The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
John 9:32 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.
John 9:33 If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
John 9:34 They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
John 9:36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
John 9:37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
John 9:38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
John 9:39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
John 9:40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
John 9:41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
Psalm 68:9 Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.
Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

NEWS-
In short- The DNC had their emails hacked- maybe by Russia? The emails showed that the DNC was in the tank for Hillary- and tried everything they could to stop Bernie.
Who they referred to as ‘the Jew- who might be an atheist- lets have some reporter ask him’.
So- the media- also known as the political arm for Hillary- have been doing their thing.
I saw an interview last night- on world news- they spoke to former defense secy. Gates.
He said ‘Russia needs a strong president- who won’t put up with them bullying us around’.
Gates view is honest- many hold his view- it will lead to war.
Why? Because what he means about bullying is the fact that the US has actually deposed world leaders- on a fairly regular basis- for political theatre [Libya- Iraq- etc.]
The US has violated a promise we made to Russia after the breakup of the Soviet Union- that we would not build up NATO troops on the Russian/European border.
We are doing just that.
We slapped sanctions on Putin- for doing the very same thing we do- backing up rebels in countries who want freedom.
And Russia has indeed been sending signals they are ready to engage.
Gates view is dangerous- because if our response is ‘we need to show him HE can’t keep doing this’- then we will have a real war- more than likely over Syrian airspace- when Putin and Assad say ‘enough is enough- stop flying illegal missions over Syria’ which we are indeed doing [there has been no declared war on Syria- what we are doing is illegal].
So- the media showed how Russia might have been the hacker- and they released the damming emails- simply because they want Trump to win.
Then they showed how Hillary is ‘strong’ against Putin- and Trump ‘praised’ him- once. Which Hillary has done as well.
But the media want the public to think ‘geez- Hilary is an innocent victim- after all she only wanted to accuse Bernie of being an atheist- with the help of the DNC- and Wassermann. But Trump and the evil Russian empire are all out- they are part of the vast right wing conspiracy that are after me’.
I think the public has caught on to the whole thing- and the reason Trump is ahead in the polls today- is because of this very thing.
