THE KINGDOM- OF GOD.

https://ccoutreach87.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/the-second-video-i-said-i-would-never-make.zip
http://wp.me/a4V5qQ-7X   another radio show I did years ago
Ok- this video [hopefully] will be the last one on this topic [If I charged for these- I would be able to make money!]
But- I never take money [opp’s- ok- Cameron gave me 20 bucks- he’s making a killing with his lawn business- yeah- I took it].

So- as I talk about these things- I think its good- because those who have followed my site for a while know I have talked about all of this.

Often times when Christians go thru stuff- they go thru a ‘period of restoration’- then- when they ‘come back’- they pretend like nothing happened.

And people don’t just want to ‘hear’ preaching/teaching- though that’s a part of it- but in the bible you see the stories of failures- struggles- the difficulties are there- for all to see.

Ok- hopefully in the next video we can talk about the Kingdom of God.
In the progression of teaching I have been doing the last few months- I have been trying to show how the bible is simply the history of God bringing man back to himself [back to the Garden- meaning communion with God].

And how when we read the promises that God made to man- the intent was to restore this fellowship that was broken.

About a year ago I met a missionary- Albert.

He stayed at the halfway house for a few days- and we had some good fellowship.  He told me one day that a famous preacher [I’m familiar with the person- won’t mention his name] came to Robstown- and preached ‘the kingdom’.

He said many of the pastors [and from what I gathered- he himself] were no longer preaching ‘Jesus’- but the kingdom.

One day I was at the courthouse- and I met an older brother- he was passing out flyers- with the same basic message.

They were teaching that the true message of Jesus [and John the Baptist] was the Kingdom of God- and that the church world is missing it [or in deception] because they are preaching Jesus- not the message of the Kingdom.

I explained to Albert that this understanding of the Kingdom went to an extreme.

That in the bible [the books of Acts] the central message of the apostles- was actually Jesus.
One of the early church fathers [a Bishop] said ‘Jesus is the Kingdom’.

As with many things- there is usually some truth to a certain insight of scripture [yes- Jesus and John did preach ‘the Kingdom’]

But- these 2 [Jesus- Kingdom] are not really different messages.

Jesus said the Kingdom of God is within you- the Kingdom does not come with ‘outward observation’ [meaning- you’re not looking- obsessively- for a future Kingdom].

But that thru the death and resurrection of Christ- and his ascension to Gods right hand- the Kingdom has indeed been established.

Jesus- remember- is alive- bodily- at Gods right hand [that’s why faith in the bodily resurrection is a foundational belief of the church].

And we are NOW a nation of Kings and Priests.

So- Jesus- his rule- are present realities.

When I had the discussion with Albert- I thought at the time I would write a post- titled ‘an open letter to the Pastors of Robstown’- and sort of correct the extreme view that THOSE WHO WERE PREACHING JESUS- WERE WRONG.

No- that’s going too far- but yes- the message of the Kingdom of God- is greater than simply trying to ‘get people saved’- though thats a part of it.

Being saved is in a way your new membership into the Kingdom [we are called ambassadors for Christ]- and we are presently in the world- to be salt and light- to have an influence for good in the nations.
The best understanding- in my view- is that the Kingdom of God is both a present- and  future reality.

If we understand that Jesus is indeed alive- physically- right now- then he is the King- of the Kingdom- now.

He works thru the people of the Kingdom [us- believers] at the present time- and he will continue to reign thru out all eternity [remember the videos? That God promised King David that a Son would rule from the throne- forever].

At the culmination of all things- there will be the return of Christ- and a new heaven and earth- which will be a ‘new phase’ of the kingdom- that is already here.

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God

Now after that John was put in prison , Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of thekingdom of God,

And saying , The time is fulfilled , and the kingdom of God is at hand : repent ye , and believe the gospel.
And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into thekingdom of God.
And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come , he answered them and said , The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
neither shall they say , Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold , the kingdom of God is within you.

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

But we preach Christ crucified , unto the Jews a stumblingblock , and unto the Greeks foolishness;

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified .
Revelation 1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
