  WHAT IS THE PROMISED LAND?
I stuck the notes in the middle of these verses [not on purpose- but started commenting midway thru- and that’s where they are]- So- for those who don’t read the verses I post- at least scroll down and read the comments I made- I think they would help- my comments are scattered between the verses- it would be best just to read all the verses too]
Numbers 13:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Numbers 13:2 Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.
Numbers 13:3 And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel.

Numbers 13:25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.
Numbers 13:26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.
Numbers 13:27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.
Numbers 13:28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
Numbers 13:29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
Numbers 13:30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
Numbers 13:31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
Numbers 13:32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

Joshua 1:1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

Joshua 1:2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
Joshua 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
Joshua 1:5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Joshua 2:1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.
Joshua 2:2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country.
Joshua 2:3 And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country.
Joshua 2:4 And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:
Joshua 2:18 Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home unto thee.
Joshua 2:19 And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.

Joshua 3:5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you.
Joshua 3:7 And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.
Joshua 4:14 on that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

[NOTE- this week I did read some of the passages I plan on speaking on in the video- even though I wasn’t even doing a ‘deep study’ yet- ‘stuff’ [Hidden Manna] always seems to Pop Out. So- I added this chapter because a few days ago I quoted Revelation 5 in the videos- if you remember I said how the images we see in Revelation are significant- so in Revelation 5 we see Jesus with ‘7 horns’- an image of authority- I also said how he himself is a type of the Ark- so- in this famous battle of Jericho- the priests are marching around the city with the Ark- and they are blowing 7 trumpets- made of Rams horns- when you see the image of a Ram [like in the story of Abraham offering Isaac] it means the true Lamb sacrifice is still to come- so the 7 rams horns- blown by the priests- were indeed a prophetic image of a future Lamb- still to come].
Joshua 6:1 Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.
Joshua 6:2 And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
Joshua 6:3 And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
Joshua 6:4 And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
Joshua 6:5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
Joshua 6:6 And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD.
Joshua 6:7 And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD.
Joshua 6:8 And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.
Joshua 6:9 And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
Joshua 6:10 And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.
Joshua 6:Joshua 11: So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.
Joshua 6:12 And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.
Joshua 6:13 And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
Joshua 6:14 And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.
Joshua 6:15 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
Joshua 6:16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
Joshua 6:17 And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
Joshua 6:18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
Joshua 6:19 But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.
Joshua 6:20 So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

NOTES HERE, AND MORE BELOW
[ I’m giving you a flavor of the story here- I don’t want to load this post with bible verses- though I wouldn’t mind- but the intent of me teaching this is to show that once again- when the Apostles wrote about these stories in the New Testament- they saw them as primarily finding fulfillment in the completed work of Christ- the writer of Hebrews- chapters 3-4 [copied below] is trying to persuade his Jewish brothers to see that the promise of REST- and inheriting the land- was not talking about natural land- but looking forward to the kingdom of God.
He says ‘If Joshua gave them rest—the land- then why did king David speak of another rest- still to come’- Then the writer of Hebrews [probably Paul the apostle] will take an obscure passage from the Psalms [95] and say ‘see- David spoke by the Holy Spirit- saying there was still a day to come’.

It’s very interesting to see how Paul [it’s easier for me to just take Paul as the author] interprets all these promises in a sort of spiritual way- finding fulfillment in Christ- and the kingdom of God- he even sees the ‘land promise’ as finding fulfillment in the Sabbath rest of God- which he also ‘spiritualizes’ by taking the creation story- and the passage that says ‘God rested on the 7th day’- he says ‘there remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God’.

Now- I wrote an entire commentary on Hebrews on the blog- and I don’t want to do it again here.

There are many passages in the book of Hebrews that divide Christians over one of the many debates [which I think are silly- to be honest] that rages in the church.

These Hebrew passages which divide us are usually because we read in Hebrews things like ‘those who had the Spirit- if they fall away- they can’t be brought back to repentance’.

I believe if we understand that what Paul is primarily doing is appealing to his Jewish brothers- saying ‘look- God blessed you/us in a unique way- the Jewish people- but we must now move on in the revelation of God- as revealed thru the Messiah- and if we want the true REST of God- then we find it in Christ’ [see- I’m re-teaching it- The Jews did indeed ‘have the Spirit’ in the Old Covenant- in a way no other nation had. The Spirit of God anointed their Kings/Priests/Prophets- and in a sense ‘to fall away’ can be taken as them not ‘continuing in the revelation of God’ meaning believing Jesus was indeed the Christ- the one their prophets spoke about- see? Ok- Like I said- let’s not re-do the commentary- That’s why in the following verses he says ‘your fore-fathers didn’t enter in because of UNBELIEF’- He’s actually teaching- yeah- Justification BY FAITH here- telling them if they stay in the Law System- with the sacrifices- and the Levitical priesthood- which is based on works- not faith- then they too [1st century Jewish brothers] will fail to ‘ENTER INTO REST’ just like unbelief kept their fathers out- see?

So- even the very famous land promise [the promised land] is seen as the New Covenant of Christ- and the Kingdom of God- I could go on- but won’t.

Hebrews 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will hear his voice,
Hebrews 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
Hebrews 3:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
Hebrews 3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
Hebrews 3:11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
Hebrews 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Hebrews 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Hebrews 3:15 While it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. [This is the obscure reference- where the writer says ‘see- David wrote this verse- by the Holy Spirit- many years after Joshua took them into the promised land- so- God must have been speaking of another day of rest [or promised land] that was to come some day-and sure enough- it has come! It’s this great work of Christ and the kingdom/ church today’- I mean if we- the people of God can ‘see’ these things- it would revolutionize how we see ourselves- and our role in the world today].
Hebrews 3:16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
Hebrews 3:17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
Hebrews 3:18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
Hebrews 3:19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Hebrews 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
Hebrews 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Hebrews 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Hebrews 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. [once again- the writer takes the scripture that says ‘God rested on the 7th day’ and spiritually applies it- saying ‘there is a Rest’ [or covenant of grace- not law- works- which would be the other 6 days of creation- where God ‘worked’- law] but now- after the work/law period- the 7th day has come’! I mean if we can grasp these truths- and read the bible with ‘understanding’ then it would make a big difference- for sure.
Hebrews 4:5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
Hebrews 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
Hebrews 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Hebrews 4:8 For if  Joshua had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Hebrews 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. [This is where some confusion- and fighting- among Christians takes place- because in Hebrews we do read ‘the people of God’ ‘those who have received the Spirit’- in context- when the writer says- here ‘the people of God’ I believe it is a Jewish reference- and Paul is saying ‘see-there is still a Rest promise to God’s people’ trying to persuade his Jewish brothers to enter into belief in Christ as the Messiah- then they would rest from the works of the law- see?]
Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Hebrews 11:30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
Hebrews 11:31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
James 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Psalm 95:1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Psalm 95:2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
Psalm 95:3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
Psalm 95:4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
Psalm 95:5 The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
Psalm 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
Psalm 95:7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
Psalm 95:8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
Psalm 95:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
Psalm 95:10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
Psalm 95:11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

NOTE- As I post this- on Thanksgiving day- I want to bless you guys- have a great thanksgiving- we have much to be thankful for- so- I don’t want to ruin it by getting into some of the stuff I plan on indeed dealing with down the road.

But- I mentioned the Ferguson Mo. Situation- the shooting of Mike Brown- and the non- indictment of the cop.

As you know- the media- both left and right- just can’t deal- justly- with these things- because frankly- these guys are not really ‘media’ in the sense of non- biased reporting.

But- I have been on the streets for many years- and know gang members- addicts- the whole scene.

These guys are my friends- and because of this unique situation- I know- for a fact- that some of the local cops are indeed ‘dirty’.

Now- I have dealt with this in the past- and the main reason I didn’t report lots of this- is because these stories came to me as being ‘one of the group’- that is they were told to me by my friends.

Judges who buy drugs from the local dealers [one] - a cop who gets guys to do ‘sexual favors’ for them [yes- guys].

These things are regularly reported to me- over 25 years.
So- trust me- things are not always as they appear.

Now- when you know this stuff- and you see a media personality seem to take one side or the other- to me- they don’t ‘know’ what is really going on.

So- I hope to get into this down the road- and yes- this is something the church does have a role to play- but for now- enjoy your day.

-See, now you got me started.

Many years ago at the Fire Dept. - we used to read the old call logs [books that logged the runs we went to].
Now- these were old- from back in ‘the day’- but- they recorded stuff like ‘we had a call from some NIGGERS- and went to... .’.

Ok- did the cops have the same stuff?

Probably.

I say this to show you- many Black people have a right to distrust cops- and if you have a background knowledge of some of the stuff that goes on- then you can see it’s not always ‘paranoia’ on the part of the Black community.
They have a history- of well- being killed- for stuff like selling cigarettes in NY- or being shot because the White cop said ‘get your license’ and the Black guy- tries to get it- and is shot- on video.

Or walking down the stairs- and it’s dark- so the cop murders you [yes- that’s murder- in cold blood- and regardless of ‘the law’ it requires judgment according to God’s law].

Now- are all Cops bad?

No- but more than you think- trust me.
I am not a big fan of Al Sharpton- but I saw his speech last night- how he said the prosecutors- and the grand jury- how at times these guys all work together- and the biases [even the ones they don’t realize] do effect the process.

I have not followed the Michael Brown case- or to be honest- much media.

But I saw Bill OReilly defending the ‘forensic evidence’ one night- that if the forensic evidence proved the cop was innocent- then it’s a closed case.

He was referring to the fact that they found blood in the cop car.

The 2 Black guys trying to give the other view- said its how you interpret it.

So- if a Black kid got into a struggle- and there was blood in the car- the cop would be pissed off.

It is possible that as the kid ran- if he did stick his hands up and said ‘don’t shoot’ then it would be murder.

Now- I’m not saying that’s what happened- I don’t know- but it showed me that because of a history of police abuse [and trust me- I know- I just gave you the old call logs where we referred- often- to THE NIGGERS].

Then it causes distrust- and the Black community has this distrust- in my view- rightfully.
